Thursday, April 30th was NYU Coffee Club's second official event and first Brew Bar! This Brew Bar was our Chemex Edition, meaning that our Coffee Club E-Board members ground coffee beans onsite (with beans generously donated to us by our partner, Irving Farms) and then brewed on a Chemex and served the coffee in our hand stamped Coffee Club cups.
To prepare for the event, our team visited Irving Farms' training lab in Chelsea to work on our technique and timing for brewing the Irving Farm's Santa Isabel, Guatemala we would use for the Brew Bar. On the day of, we set up our table at the top of the stairs in Kimmel and started brewing. We had sample cups for a quick taste-test and 8oz cups stamped with our Coffee Club logo for only $1! We had a great turn out and lots of positive feedback from students who skipped the line at Pete's Coffee to try. It was a great wrap-up final even to end our first semester and celebrate our new All-Square Club status, meaning, it's official, we're a club! We look forward to brewing up some coffee for you again soon, so stay tuned for our Brew Bar dates and other events next semester!
